CAL-AM Withdraws Desal Request to Coastal Commission
I am proud to have stood with other elected officials in Monterey County against Cal Am's request for a permit from the Coastal Commission to build a sub-surface desal in Marina. We have a better option that will cost ratepayers far less--as much as three times less: expansion of Monterey One's water purification plant that is already producing water.
Thank you to Public Water Now for fighting for ratepayers. And thank you to these other elected officials who all signed a letter to the Coastal Commission opposing Cal Am's project.
