Camp Quien Sabe Is Serving Youth of Monterey County

This week I visited Camp Quien Sabe, which is run by the city of Monterey at Toro Park. The camp currently serves about 60 youth but has a capacity of 80. If you are looking for a good summer experience for your youth, age 7-15, I encourage you to check it out. The regular program for 7-11 year olds teaches basic camping skills and crafts. Environmental team is for 12 year olds and focusses on learning about the environment. And 13-15 year olds may participate in a Work Experience program that combines outdoor adventures and outdoor service projects. All the youth sleep out under the stars. I learned that there are campers not only from the city of Monterey, but from all of Monterey county.

What most impressed me and the heart of any summer camp program are the staff. They are dedicated and smart and most of them are former campers who loved the experience so much they now work on staff. If you are looking for a week get away for your youth, I highly recommend Camp Quien Sabe. To learn more and sign up, see City of Monterey, CA
