Thank you for Voting!

As election day, March 5, nears, I wanted to thank all the voters in Monterey County District 5, whether they voted for me or not. Our democratic process is so important to who we are as a nation, and to thrive it depends upon citizens exercising their right to cast a vote. If you haven't voted yet, you still can mail your ballot, drop it off at a drop box, or bring it with you to vote at the polls on Tuesday.

Over the last several months I have had the honor of meeting so many citizens of District 5, from Carmel Valley, Toro Park, Pacific Grove, Big Sur, Carmel Highlands, and of course, Monterey. I have learned a great deal from the many one on one conversations I have had with voters; if I didn't meet you yet, I look forward to hearing your thoughts in the future. We live at a time of partisan divide at the national level, but what I love about local politics is that people can work together to get things done for our communities.

I don't know what will happen on election day, but I am proud of the campaign we have run, focused on issues, and reminding voters of my record of service and accomplishment as a 15-year elected official.

My family and I have faced some serious health challenges during the election, but we somehow managed get the message out. I am so appreciative of the help from my family, supporters and the many local elected officials who endorsed me.
